There are many sites and activities in our community. In fact, Plattsmouth was one of the first trading posts along the Missouri River, and a key stopping point for the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Our Main Street area dates back 130 years - and some buildings even farther - and includes the Cook Log Cabin and access to the confluence of the Platte and Missouri Rivers.

For summer fun, the Twin Rivers Water Park is the place to splash around on a hot day. Or enjoy fishing, boating, or hiking along the rivers. The summer also is a time for various weekend events, show and shines and more. Visit in the Fall for the Kass Kounty King Korn Karnival - the oldest continuous harvest festival in Nebraska, and the Cruisin' Main car show with over 300 classic and collectors cars. Main Street doesn't slow down for the colder months, either. Hometown Holidays is a celebration that includes everything from reindeer to cider and lots of shopping, too.
